Melanie Gerlis’s monetary instances column declares that James Rosenquist’s estate has moved from the artist’s dealer Acquavella:

The estate of yank artist James Rosenquist, who died in March, has selected a European supplier, Thaddaeus Ropac, as its global representative. Mimi Thompson Rosenquist, board director of the estate and the artist’s widow, says of Ropac’s illustration, “Jim’s work and legacy is in exceptional arms.” The gallery has Rosenquist’s eye-catching “The Meteor Hits the Swimmer’s Pillow” (1997) prepared for its Basel booth ($950,000). Rosenquist’s subsequent important institutional exhibition opens at the Ludwig Museum in Cologne in November.
