Emilie Faïf is a visual designer born in 1976 in France. She graduated from the École des Arts Appliqués Olivier de Serres and the École Nationale des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. Emilie Faïf’s universe has something natural and incongruous, she constructs textile sculptures that suggest the form of an object, but leave the final imagining to the viewer.
“I’ve always been immersed in the world of art since my mother was a painter, and my father was an architect and sculptor. My attraction to textiles is probably a legacy of my grandparents and great-grandparents, [who worked as] tailors. I think I combine all of these influences by blending ideas of space, sculpture, decoration and textiles together.”
