A paradise of perfectionist and copies of the paintings on photos by Adam Hillman

In our turbulent age, some people are constantly looking for new ways to tickle the nerves, while others are trying with all their might to calm the very nerves. And help in this, strangely enough, images with symmetrical or harmoniously arranged objects. In his works, Adam Hillman is repelled by this very idea. He himself calls himself “objects arranger” (this can be translated as “organizer, arranger of objects”). He painstakingly lays out geometric patterns of biscuits, candies and fruits, builds gradients from pieces of onions and marmalade bears, creates a free copy of “Starry Night” from Tic-Tac jewelry right in the boxes. And no Photoshop! If there’s any creative work for a real perfectionist, it’s her.

In general, the ideas of Adam’s works have not changed for several years, but he finds that these ideas are embodied in new forms. Hillman says: “Recently I have been paying a lot of attention to colour contrasts and gradients. In my previous works, I used the same objects and arrays of different colours more often, but now I’m more interested in using different objects of the same colour on the geometric background of a sheet of paper”.

And, as you can see, Adam makes copies of famous paintings from different objects. In this respect, of course, one of Pete Mondrian’s works was perfect for him. But not the same geometry: now among the works of Hillman except for the already mentioned “Scream” and “Starry Night” can be found quite fresh “Big Wave” Hokusai, “Mona Lisa”, “Guernica” and “Kiss” Klimt (it is interesting that for the latter Adam used candy “Hershey’s Kisses”).
