MacDougall’s Russian Art Auction Success

MacDougall’s Important Russian Art Auction today went well, in spite of the current uncertainties, raising over 2.3 m pounds sterling.

The two top lots by Ivan Shishkin sold within the estimate.  The sale of a typical Parisian work by Konstantine Korovin for 201,000 pounds was also noteworthy, as was the sale of Dmitry Zhilinsky for 108,000 pounds in the Contemporary section. “We saw new buyers today and the works on papers collectors were particularly active”, commented Director William MacDougall
