Sotheby’s has announced the limited edition sale of “Aubrey Mayer: New Portraits” photographs. It includes pictures of famous contemporary artists working in their studios from popular photographer Aubrey Meyer. The artists included Jacqueline Humphries, Mark Grotjahn, Raymond Pettibon, Ed Ruscha, Henry Taylor, and others.
With free access to the studios of some of the leading contemporary artists, the 35-year-old self-taught photographer discovered the secrets of the authors’ artistic process. Mayer captured each artist’s personal space and their unique way of working. His photographs will allow him to explore how masterpieces of contemporary art were created.
Large pictures are printed on aluminum, paper, and linen material. The new limited edition has never been exhibited or offered for sale. It is available on the auction house website.
