“Kota lives happily on a magical beach, submerged underwater, looking at life in a positive way.” Such is the tale artist, Kostas Neofitidis, paints for Kota, his happy protagonist in the new textile range that he’s created for his label, Kota Collections.
Greatly inspired by his travels to Asia—Thailand’s, Ao Chaloklum beach in particular—Kota’s world is a riot of exploding colors and forms, whose abstract depictions of characters and locations slowly reveal themselves to onlookers until suddenly coming into focus. Although not literal, the images give the feeling of the location of their inspiration. The animated video which was created for the collection’s promotion is worth the watch to see shapes turn into flying butterflies and swimming fish; pulsing dots shine like sun spots; and Kota coming to life as a living, breathing creature.
The art panels that are printed on woven canvas are destined to become a visual celebration for any environment in which they hang, wherein the geometric shapes and vibrant primary and secondary colors of the designs meld and dance to great effect. These easy to install, framed panels are available in a range of sizes and are created with the intention of spreading positive energy and a bright outlook.
