Paper Art by Raya Sader Bujana for DOIY

Venezuelan artist Raya (previously) and photographer Leo living and working in their studio in Barcelona. They were commissioned to create a new narrative with by Folch for Doiy Design – a joyful objects store in Barcelona too, with an aim to generate meaningful collaborations with diverse creatives. Inspired by the Mexican architects Luis Barragán and Ricardo Legorreta and Doiy’s recent Scala collection, together Raya and Leo created and filmed an artwork made entirely from paper that plays with textures, colours, clean cuts, light and perspectives.

Raya Sader Bujana vive e lavora a Barcellona, ma nelle sue vene scorre sangue libanese e venezuelano. Proprio in Venezuela ha studiato architettura, disciplina che le ha fatto scoprire una bruciante passione per la carta, passione che ha poi deciso di seguire una volta trasferirsi in Spagna, dove, dopo aver frequentato per tre anni la Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, ha deciso di abbandonare gli studi per mettersi a lavorare con cutter e cartoncini, sviluppando un talento naturale che le ha permesso di trasformare la paper art in un mestiere.

Da allora Raya — che su Instagram ha un profilo seguito da decine di migliaia di persone — ha collaborato con marchi come Nissan, Eastpak, HP, 7UP e Camper, e aperto un negozio su Etsy, nel quale vende le sue opere.
