Wearable Glass Objects and Sculptures by Kit Paulson

Artist Kit Paulson has a broad interest in art, science, and history that intersects superbly in her career as a glass sculptor. Over the past several years she’s explored human anatomy through a variety of skull and bones pieces, as well as wearable objects like masks, armor, and even a pair of gloves.

Kit Paulson is the current 1st Place Winner of the Glass Art Society’s 2016 Juried Selection Catalog featuring the recent glass artwork of students and graduates which receives numerous international applicants every year.

Kit Paulson received her BFA with a concentration in glass from Alfred University in 2004. After leaving Alfred she spent time working for a number of other glass artists around the country. She has worked in various capacities at Chicago area glassblowing studios including Making Glass LLC, Chaos Glass Studio, Prodigy Glass, Talisman Glass, among others. She has traveled around the US as a teaching assistant at the Studio of the Corning Museum of Glass, Penland School of Craft, Ox Bow School of Art and Pilchuck Glass School.

In July of 2015 Kit completed the Rosenburg Residency at Salem State University in Massachusetts. In October of 2015 she completed a residency at the Tacoma Museum of Glass. She is currently an MFA candidate at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. This summer she is teaching glass intensive workshops at Glass Axis and Penland School of Crafts. You can follow her most recent work on Instagram.
