On August 17, 1960, the American actor, director, screenwriter, and producer, two-time Academy Award winner Sean Penn was born in California.

To date, the actor’s filmography includes more than 60 films, including “The Game” by David Fincher, “I am Sam” by Jesse Nelson, “Carlito’s Way” by Brian de Palma, “Sweet and Ugly” by Woody Allen. Sean Penn has released several films as a director. For most of them, he wrote the scripts himself.

We decided to recall the vivid excerpts of his biography, interesting facts, and scandals in which Sean was involved.

His full name is Sean Justin Penn. He was born in Santa Monica, California. His father, Leo Penn, was a director, and his mother, Eileen Ryan, was an actress. Sean’s younger brother, Chris Penn, was also an actor. In 2006, Chris’s body was found in his own home. An autopsy revealed that the cause of death was cardiomyopathy (heart disease).

Penn went to school with future stars Emilio Estevez, Charlie Sheen, and Rob Lowe. They all became famous actors and remained close friends.

At the age of 19, Sean moved from his hometown to New York to pursue an acting career. Star Trek of the future celebrity began with the filming of the television series Barnaby Jones.

The debut in a feature film took place in 1981. Penn starred in Lights Out, opposite Tom Cruise and Timothy Hutton.

The long-awaited success came to Sean in 1982. He got a role in the comedy film Rapid Change at Ridgemont High School. Then, in 1983, Bad Boys followed, after which Sean became a real star!

Penn’s first high-profile romance was with actress Elizabeth McGovern. Then the secular chronicles were full of their joint photos, but the relationship lasted only a few months. Everyone knew about the actor’s next affair. Still would! Penn married Madonna herself.

In early 2014, Sean’s dizzying romance begins with one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood – actress Charlize Theron. It was clearly going to the wedding, but in 2015 this romance ended.

Sean Penn is the winner of two Oscars for leading roles in the films Harvey Milk (2008) and Mysterious River (2003), two Volpi Cups for Best Actor (21 grams, 2002), (Trouble, 1997) The Venice Film Festival, the Silver Award for Best Actor at the Cannes Film Festival (She is Beautiful, 1996) and the Silver Bear at the Berlin Film Festival (The Dead Man Walking, 1995).
