The Other Art Fair Comes to Chicago to Connect Artists With a New Generation of Collectors

On September 28, a new kind of art event is coming to Chicago: The Other Art Fair connects collectors directly with emerging artists at immersive, interactive events around the world. After successful installments in the UK, Australia, and Los Angeles, The Other Art Fair will fill Mana Contemporary in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood. From September 28-30, TOAF Chicago will present a full weekend of opportunities to meet and talk with artists, whose works are also available for sale on-site. Colossal’s founder and editor-in-chief Christopher Jobson helped curate top emerging talent for the Chicago Other Art Fair as part of TOAF’s 2018 selection committee.

Renowned Chicago music venue Empty Bottle will curate the fair soundtrack with live music and DJ sets, younger visitors can explore the fair with a free creative newspaper, and local establishments Promontory and MONEYGUN are cooking up satisfying food and drink menus. Engaging panel discussions and talks with industry experts and leading creatives, presented by Saatchi Art, are free to all ticket holders. Friday and Saturday evenings include special previews and an after-dark Saturday night party, sponsored by MINI USA and The Cooper Southbank.

The Other Art Fair is also partnering with Chicago-based multi-disciplinary artist Hebru Brantley to support Little Black Pearl art and design academy. Brantley has created an exclusive, limited edition print only available at TOAF. All proceeds will benefit Little Black Pearl, a non-profit that works diligently to counter the challenges urban youth face by providing a safe environment, positive role models, and rigorous program and skill development activities and opportunities in the fields of art and design.
