Supermodel Claudia Schiffer became a curator

Exhibit on the 1990s fashion scene will include photographs by Jürgen Teller, Corinne Day, and Karl Lagerfeld.

Supermodel Claudia Schiffer is preparing her first exhibition project Fashion Photography of the 1990s, which will be her “personal journey through the world of fashion. Among the photographers whose work will be on display at the Kunstpalast Museum in Düsseldorf are Jürgen Teller, Corinne Day, Karl Lagerfeld, Herb Ritz, and Ellen von Unwerth. In addition to photographs from fashion magazines and advertisements of the time, Schiffer plans to reveal part of his own archive. In total, the exhibition will feature 120 exhibits related to designers, photographers, editors, and supermodels of the 1990s era.

Schiffer said that she fell in love with fashion in the 1980s, but it wasn’t until the 1990s that I realized what it really is. It was a very energetic and wonderful time, unlike anything she has ever done before. Photoshoots could last for days, and fashion news remained in the headlines for weeks. Sh and other supermodels breathed this atmosphere, lived it, and then for the first time, they realized that we were able to change the world.

Schiffer was born in the industrial German city of Ruhr in 1970. She caught the attention of an agent in 1987 at Checker’s nightclub in Düsseldorf. Schiffer made the decision to postpone her law school and subsequently broke the world record by appearing on the covers of magazines over a thousand times in her more than 30-year career. She now lives in the UK and continues to take part in screenings and advertising campaigns.

Model Claudia Schiffer has worked with some of the greatest fashion photographers like Richard Avedon, Patrick Demarchelier, Arthur Elgort, Steven Klein, Peter Lindbergh, Steven Meisel, Herb Ritts, Mario Testino, and Ellen von Unwerth. As well as covers of Vogue, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, Cosmopolitan, Vanity Fair and Time.

The exhibition will open on March 4 and will continue its work until June 13, 2021.
