TEFAF Art Market Report: Art Dealer Finance to be Launched During TEFAF New York Spring

The 2018 TEFAF Art Market Report will focus on art finance and will be the first survey of its kind. Entitled TEFAF Art Market Report: Art Dealer Finance, the new report is being written by Anders Petterson of ArtTactic and will be launched in New York during TEFAF New York Spring, which runs from 4-8 May 2018. The report will be downloadable from the TEFAF website from 10am EDT on Friday 4th May 2018.

Looking at the market from the perspective of both consumer and provider, to provide a better understanding of this highly opaque aspect of the art industry, the report will explore how dealers and collectors source capital in an historically illiquid market, examine the solutions and products that are currently available and new innovations that are impacting the market.

The research will provide an overview of the art finance market, its size and current trends. Information based on a detailed dealer survey will provide insights into current dealer practice and business needs as well as a greater understanding of the challenges dealers face when sourcing finance for their businesses.

The first edition of the Art Dealer Finance report will be published as a digital document that is accessible on mobile devices and desktops as well as being downloadable as a PDF that is ready to print. The digital format will provide the ability to read the report in a linear or non-linear way, with related content, expert opinions and glossary terms presented around the reading experience. The long-term strategy will be to add further editions to the platform, creating a central resource of intelligence and opinion around the art market.
