Jeff Koons

Former Wall Street trader Jeff Koons is one of the most controversial figures in contemporary art thanks to his conceptual sculptures. This controversy is largely due to the fact that he does not create his own work, instead he has a team of more than 100 assistants who implement the ideas of the “genius creator”. He is also one of the most expensive artists of his generation.

Robert Gober

American artist Robert Gobert plays with the concept of the everyday object. His often unsettling conceptual sculptures distort the normal objects that surround us. The human body is at the center of Gobert’s research and practice.

Antony Gormley

British sculptor, Antony Gormley is fascinated by the body and the relationship between time and space. Gormley even uses his body to create shapes for his conceptual sculpture, which are then made up of cubes and geometric shapes. Paige Bradley

Damien Hirst

Damien Hirst is known for his huge and captivating conceptual sculptures. “The physical impossibility of death in the mind of the living” depicts a shark preserved in a showcase filled with formaldehyde. His art centers on installations and monumental contemporary sculpture, which are often bizarre and sometimes controversial.

Thomas Schütte

The German sculptural artist, Thomas Schütte, was a student of famous painter, Gerhard Richter. Strongly influenced by Richter, Schütte took the lead in modern German sculpture.

Louise Bourgeois

French-American sculptor Louise Bourgeois is world famous for her giant conceptual sculptures. Even after her death in 2010, her spiders can still be seen in several places, with large black arachnids symbolizing her mother. One of American sculptural artists Paul for herMcCarthy is best known for his highly controversial work. He particularly angered residents when he erected his provocative “Tree” statue in Place Vendôme in Paris.

Jaume Plensa

The works of the Spanish sculptor Jaume Plensa are exhibited in many international museums. He received the prestigious Velasquez Prize and also eaches at the School of Fine Arts in Paris and at the Chicago School of Art. His work mainly consists of large-scale faces and human forms in public spaces.

Joana Vasconcelos

Portuguese artist and sculptor Joana Vasconcelos creates monumental works from everyday objects. The sources for her conceptual sculptures range from pots and napkins to mirrors and tampons. Her especially everyday objects question the role of women in a patriarchal society, which allows her to create engaging and feminist works.
