Art-O-Rama is a leading contemporary art fair that redefines the art market within a unique industrial backdrop. Scheduled from August 29th to 31st, 2025, Friche la Belle de Mai will transform into a dynamic hub for innovative creators and leading international contemporary art galleries. Art-O-Rama invites art collectors, enthusiasts, and the curious to engage in passionate exchanges amidst unexpected discoveries, all within a warm Mediterranean atmosphere.

Every late summer, the Marseille Art Fair becomes a focal point for contemporary art, utilizing the industrial charm of Friche la Belle de Mai. Since its inception in 2007, Art-O-Rama has carved a niche as a bold curatorial contemporary art fair. It prioritizes new forms of creativity over mere spectacle. This year, from August 29th to 31st, art collectors, professionals, and emerging artists will converge in this distinctive setting, bridging international and regional cultures. Art-O-Rama is more than just a contemporary art fair; it’s a vibrant meeting place that embodies the essence of summer, artistic rigor, and Mediterranean hospitality.

Art-O-Rama unfolds within the historic Friche la Belle de Mai, a former tobacco factory transformed into a thriving art workshop. This venue represents a significant urban and social transformation, symbolizing the cultural vitality of Marseille. With its dynamic spaces—“La Cartonnerie,” “Le Petit Plateau,” and “La Tour”—Friche offers an open scenography that fosters the exchange of experiences and artistic discoveries. As a key center for contemporary art in the Mediterranean, Friche stands as a beacon of accessibility and cultural dialogue.

Art-O-Rama distinguishes itself with its compact format, featuring around sixty carefully selected contemporary art galleries, publishers, and independent organizations chosen by an international artistic committee. This thoughtful selection ensures personalized support and meaningful interactions between exhibitors and visitors. In 2025, galleries from cities like Shanghai, Chicago, Berlin, and Barcelona will showcase alongside prominent French galleries such as Galerie Suzanne Tarasieve and Galerie Maubert. This boutique format, favored by the press and art professionals, allows unique and sometimes daring proposals to shine without being overshadowed.

Spotlighting Emerging Artists and International Talent

The 2025 edition of Art-O-Rama highlights geographical and generational diversity, with young contemporary art galleries like Sissi Club (Marseille) and Soup (London) presenting artists who embrace bold, interdisciplinary approaches. The “Publishing and Design” section continues to grow, featuring Atelier Arcay (Paris), Keijiban (Japan), Royal Book Lodge (Montreux), and UNBUILT (Paris). These exhibitors explore themes of materiality and visual narratives through artist books and unique works.

Art-O-Rama is not merely a sales exhibition; it serves as a platform for reflection and dialogue. Throughout the weekend, attendees can enjoy a free program of screenings, conferences, and discussions with emerging artists, art collectors and curators. The event kicks off with a VIP preview on Friday, August 29th, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, followed by an exclusive opening from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The contemporary art fair will then welcome the public on Saturday, August 30th, and Sunday, August 31st, from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

New for the 2025 edition is the online contemporary art fair, Immaterial Fair, which extends the reach of Art-O-Rama. It is going to allow a broader audience to discover exhibitors and access exclusive content.
