Check Out Exhibitor Highlights From NADA New York Ahead of the Fair’s Opening Next Week

The New Art Dealers Association (NADA) is set to return with its ninth edition of NADA New York this month, running from May 18 through May 21, 2023. The annual fair will host 88 exhibitors—galleries, art spaces, and nonprofit organizations—of which 53 are NADA members and a notable 31 are first-time participants. The forthcoming fair promises to be one of the most diverse, with exhibitors hailing from 17 countries and 37 cities, ranging from Copenhagen to Detroit, Lima to Seoul—and, of course, with strong representation by galleries based in New York.

Also of note, NADA New York will be taking place at a new location this year, in West Chelsea’s gallery district, at 548 West 22nd Street. The heart of the city’s vibrant art scene serves as the proverbial backdrop to the fair, offering visitors a comprehensive art experience. NADA Executive Director Heather Hubbs said, “New York City is a global art center and our home base as a gallery association. We’re delighted to continue showcasing key voices and unique presentations in contemporary art and looking forward to welcoming visitors to our new location for our ninth edition this May.”

Visitors to the fair can expect an array of intriguing solo presentations from returning galleries, such as Sebastian Gladstone, with work by Tristan Unrau; artist María Lulu Varona at Embajada; and Pat McCarthy showing with Entrance. The Hole will be showcasing the work of Matt Belk in an immersive hunting cabin installation featuring the artist’s airbrush paintings. New exhibitors, too, offer an exciting chance to explore and discover new contemporary artists. Curro, of Guadalajara, will be presenting work by Alejandro Almanza Pereda, Claudia Peña Salinas, and Juan Capistrán; Rebecca Camacho Presents, from San Francisco, will show ektor garcia and Marie Herwald Hermann; and the Miami-based publisher Dale Zine will show work by Kelly Breez.

Coinciding with the fair will be NADA Presents, NADA’s keystone series of programming, which will include public dialogues, performances, and events that use the fair and art on view as touchstones for wider conversations.

Because NADA operates as a nonprofit dedicated to facilitating collaboration within the art world by generating a strong network of member galleries, the organization’s New York fair is a not-to-be-missed art event that offers visitors the chance to visit myriad international dealers all in one place.
