Exploring the Artistic Journey of m Karla Wave

m Karla Wave is an artist from New England who lives on the east coast of the USA. She is passionate about light, color, form, and line and creates landscape and floral paintings, beautiful pastel paintings, iPad paintings, thousands of photographs, and now videos! Her inspiration comes from nature – if she sees something that needs to be photographed during the day or night, she takes up to 300 photos. If she misses something, m Karla Wave paints it, combining all her works into numerous videos. Her art is based on flowers, pastoral landscapes of Western MA, where she attended college, and the sea, coastal wind, and light of Cape Cod, where she displayed her pastel paintings. This was when the wind and the elements of nature were friendly, before climate change.

The current work of m Karla Wave integrates her past, present, and future works with digital interpretations to offer new and unique horizons. She has developed a strong interest in videography. Her mixed media artworks are included in permanent collections, international online museums, virtual gallery exhibitions, and current art magazine publications.

Her art is influenced by various artists such as Wassily Kandinsky, Richard Diebenkorn, Van Gogh, Wolf Kahn, Frederick Olmsted, Edward and Josephine Hopper, Mark Rothko, Marc Chagall, Cezanne, Winslow Homer, Whistler, Turner, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Mary Oliver, John Coltrane, John McLaughlin, and more. All these elements combine and collect into an inspirational creative journey, influenced by what will be undefined. Her art can be described as a conceptual colorist, creating gently floating dreamlike images and designs of geometric forms suspending like architectural imaginings. Colors, light, and lines form and pull like the moon to the tides, a sailboat to the mooring, hyacinth blues, mists of white, untouched littoral sand and sea, a strong intertidal, incandescent pull lighting the way.
