Liste Art Fair Basel Expands to 106 Exhibitors for 2026
Liste Art Fair Basel is heading into its 29th edition with its broadest international lineup yet. The fair will bring 106 exhibitors from 36 countries to Messe Basel, Hall 1.1, from June 15–21, 2026, including 41 first-time participants and 65 returning galleries. That mix reinforces Liste’s long-standing position as a key platform for emerging galleries and artists during Basel’s crowded fair week.
Several returning exhibitors point to the fair’s range. Lovay Fine Arts, Geneva, will dedicate its booth to American artist Jay Payton, following the gallery’s first European solo presentation of his work in May 2026. Temnikova & Kasela, Tallinn, will share a booth with Suprainfinit, Bucharest, presenting Daria Koltsova, while Galerie Khoshbakht, Cologne, will show a new installation by Prateek Vijan that combines sculpture and projection to examine museum security structures.
The 2026 edition also underscores Liste’s widening geographic reach. Alongside a strong showing from European and U.S. galleries, the fair will include a sizable contingent of Seoul-based exhibitors: Whistle, Cylinder, and Primary Practice. Their presence reflects the growing visibility of Seoul as a force in the international contemporary art market.
Programming beyond the booths remains central to the fair’s identity. Liste has announced performances, talks, tours, film screenings, book presentations, and workshops for children throughout the run of the fair. The result is less a conventional sales floor than a layered cultural environment, one that treats critical exchange as part of the experience rather than an accessory to it.
The fair’s expanded Wall initiative will continue that approach. After Liste moved from Warteck to Messe Basel in 2021, the new site created room for architectural intervention. Last year, Basel firm Martina Kausch Architektinnen developed a flexible wall system activated by projects from invited artist-run initiatives. In 2026, five independently curated projects will be presented by Beau Travail, Stockholm; Cherry Hill, Cologne; Courtney Jaeger, Basel; Radio Athènes, Athens; and O-Town House, Los Angeles.
With its expanded roster, international scope, and increasingly ambitious programming, Liste 2026 is shaping up as one of the most closely watched gatherings of emerging art in Basel.
