The world premiere of the film “Daliland” will take place in Toronto

A new film about Salvador Dali with the participation of Ben Kingsley and Ezra Miller will be presented at the 47th Toronto International Film Festival, which will be held from September 8 to 18.

Another project has been added to the list of films about artists — this is a biopic about Salvador Dali “Daliland”, shot by Mary Harron, known for the projects “American Psychopath” and “She is Grace”.

The world premiere of the film will take place on September 17 at the 47th Toronto Film Festival. The film is set in the USA and Spain in 1973, and the narrator is a young assistant of an outrageous artist. The main role was played by Oscar winner Ben Kingsley. The role of the young Salvador Dali, appearing in flashback episodes, was played by Ezra Miller, whose name is associated with many scandals.

The star of the films “Flash” and “Fantastic Beasts” has recently been repeatedly arrested for inappropriate behavior. Recently, he has made a public statement, saying that he suffers from psychological problems and intends to undergo treatment.

Dali is not the only artist whose personality modern directors are interested in. Actor Johnny Depp decided to turn to the biography of Amedeo Modigliani. Johnny Depp will act as a director for the second time. The first experience was the film “The Brave Man” with Marlon Brando, shot 25 years ago. Depp will be co-produced by Al Pacino and Barry Navidi.

“To show the saga of Modigliani’s life on the screen is an incredibly great honor for me. His life was filled with enormous difficulties but eventually turned into a triumph. This is a universal story with which all viewers can identify themselves,” Depp said.

The film tells about the stormy and eventful 48 hours of Modigliani’s life in Paris in 1916. Casting will begin soon, and filming will start in Europe in the spring of 2023.
