Australian artist Catherine Nelson created a series of photos called Future Memories 2020. “The exciting events of 2020 have made me return to the theme of our planet, to how important it is to protect what we have,” the artist says.
Future Memories 2020 includes photos taken over three years on four continents – from the lush tropics of Costa Rica to the coral reefs of Australia, from the volcanic mountains of the Azores to the hilly tundra of Greenland.
Organic spheres soar against a cloud background that emphasizes the rich colors and incredible diversity of flora and fauna. The works in the Future Memories 2020 series will be exhibited at Michael Reid Gallery in Sydney until September 22, then they will go to Melbourne’s Gallerysmith, which opens in early 2021.
