‘I seek silence
Like you who read with thought
Not allowed
The sound of my own voice
Not words but just annoying sound
That distracts me from thinking’
Alda Merini
Enzo Crispino presents his photo project named ‘The noise of silence’, that is inspired by a few verses of a poem by Alda Merini.
Enzo Crispino is a self-taught artist, who was born in Frattamaggiore (Naples) in 1964 but he reside in the province of Reggio Emilia in the municipality of Castelnovo ne ‘Monti.
Photography was a way for him to begin with by chance and then with time it became a real passion and essential part of Enzo.
SEEKING SILENCE
The present project intends to reflect on how frenzied our current daily life is, the hectic pace of modern life distracts us from any emotions. Any gesture or thought is and remains sterile. We are closed in an intangible boundary.

A sense of bewilderment besiege us making us fragile, the seek for our own innermost being is essential.

We are looking for something so difficult to identify, the need to look for ourselves in our lives anchored in memories.

Seeking something that can only be silence…
