I came across the street artist 1010 through the image below posted by Saatchi Art on Twitter.

I had to investigate further and found an artist producing a unique and talented range of work on streets around the world which have more recently transposed into gallery shows with works on paper and canvas.

In April, 2014 1010 had a solo show at Affenfaust Galerie in Hamburg, Germany. The video below shows a teaser from the show (in German with English subtitles) with 1010. After hearing his thoughts on the art world it’s a pretty good bet 1010’s street art won’t be confined to the four walls of a gallery for too long.
The Loch series of pieces sees 1010 create some stunning illusions of depth using layered tones of colour and shadow. Not sure if these are inspired by shapes from Scottish lochs or whether I’m missing a German link, whatever inspired them I really like them!

Written words just ain’t my thing, if you speak you just go with the flow
But there it lasts forever and is set in stone
I’d like a bit more, I don’t know, a bit more mysetry
Looking further back to 1010’s earlier street art sees some striking pieces with minimal use of colour. The following images are from 1010’s Flickr album entitles Black, White & Pink.
