Marika Thunder is the latest artist to make a splash on the Henry Street circuit with her new project at www.WillShott. The show was a community effort: Those who hung around the scene were invited to help Thunder collage the walls of the space throughout the month of July.

For those who aren’t in on the youthquake Henry Street scene, but see something familiar about Thunder, she is the spitting image of her mother, Rita Ackermann, and has all the rebellious spirit and artistic to back it up.

Let’s see what a week in her life looks like, and hear from her in the captions…

A funny sign I found at the subway. Along with an A.I. generated photo of me, by the Remini app, as a construction worker constructing at some sort of construction site. The joke being, if I would’ve stayed living in Texas, that’s probably what I would’ve ended up doing.

Every now and then I venture out to Times Square with some friends to get a burst of energy and get a glimpse of New York City tourist culture. We went into Margaritaville (I believe it’s relatively new?) and saw this incredible statue of Lady Liberty herself holding up a glass.

Group of beautiful collagers at the collage party for the collage group show I curated at Willshott’s fabulous gallery.

Candid on Ena Swansea’s couch.

Charcuterie board at the afterparty for Heji Shin’s opening at 52 Walker gallery. Highly recommend seeing it.

Vegan cheesecake for my stepdad Daniel Turner’s birthday. Made mostly out of soaked cashews and dates. It was okay.

Some of my gorgeous friends celebrating at a house party hosted by L.A. Vandyke (pictured at center) at Dylan Siegel’s apartment. Sofia Leilani pictured far-right.

My dear friend and fellow artist Aron Mathe helping out at studio.

Afterparty for collage group show at Karma (the nightclub). I co-DJ’d a mostly drill rap set with Dagsen, which was super fun.

Another outtake from collage group show party at www.Willshott’s gallery. Pictured in pink top is my best friend and talented painter Olivia Van Kuiken; on her right, my other talented besties Madeline Bach and Joe Greer.

Mirror selfie at Equinox. It’s pricey but this place is my therapy lol.
