The clash of the old and the new in Alicia’s Savage pictures is an attempt to look at the past from a modern point of view.

Alicia Savage is a photo artist and illustrator from Boston. Her series of self-portraits, the “route”, is an organic study and develops as a documenting of her present and past. Inspired by its own curiosity and fueled by imagination, this series of Alicia devoted to the study of important aspects of family history and the associated moments where she found herself at different stages of her many-sided life.

Using herself as a central character, she shares with the viewer her impressions from her real trips, turning them into a metaphorical journey through her life.” The clash of the old and the new in her pictures is an attempt to look at the past from a modern point of view. “Old dresses, uncharted landscapes, homesteads of the ancestors are the obligatory elements of her work, revealing the position of Alicia.”

Her photos – the echo of the internal and external, the past and the present, the known and the unknown. Sports self-portraits allowed Savage to share with the audience her rich and complex inner world and become a “signature style” for this new artist.
